I got 'carried' away!

Hi dolls, I'm so excited to let you know that I'm featured in bitsy*von*tipsy 's blog!
I compiled a list of my favourite outfits worn by Carrie Bradshaw in the Sex and the City series
It was so hard to chose just 7 as I'm a huge fan of Carrie and I love her style, especially her shoes!

Check out my post on her lovely blog The Girl That Got Carried Away

Thank you Bitsy for this wonderful opportunity, I had a great time looking through Carrie Bradshaw's outfits

Swatch of the Day: Comparing MAC - Shimpagne with Soft and Gentle Mineralize Skin Finishs

Shimpagne - Soft & Gentle MSFs
'Shimpagne' is golden with beige undertones and 'Soft and Gentle' is golden with peachy pink undertones. There isn't much difference between the two, it's just that one has a beige undertone and the other has a pinky/peach undertone.

Shimpagne MSF
Soft and Gentle MSF

Swatches of both msfs

These 2 msfs are very similar to each other, you definitely don't need both.
Do you own any of these MSFs? What do you think of them?

Monthly Favourites - January 2012

January favourites
Hi dolls, welcome to my January favourites post!

John Frieda Frizz-Ease Hair Serum Thermal Protection
I'm a fan of John Frieda products in general, most of the things that I have tried works on my hair. What I love about this serum is that it leaves my dry hair feeling really soft. It also minimizes frizz and fly-aways when I straighten my hair.

Studio Fix Fluid SPF 15 Foundation by MAC (NC42)
I love this foundation because it evens out my skin tone and provides great coverage. I need less than a pump for my whole face, I don't need to conceal much when I'm using this foundation.

Painterly Paint Pot (MAC)
I've been using this paint pot quite regularly this month. I like that it evens out my eyelid area preparing it for eyeshadow.

Queen's Sin Lipstick (MAC)
I rediscovered this lipstick whilst shopping my stash, it's a gorgeous maroony/red lipstick, perfect for winter.

Bubblegum Lip scrub (LUSH)
This is a great scrub for removing dead skin from your lips. My lips tend to get chapped a lot during winter so I always reach out to this scrub to get all of the dead skin off, it tastes and smells lovely too!

Vaseline
I love using vaseline on the soles of my feet. It hydrates my feet and keeps it from drying out.

Models own pro (stark naked) & Barry M (mushroom)
I've been loving wearing taupey shades this month and these two are my favourite.

I hope that you have enjoyed reading my post.
What are your current favourites?

Tips on making your foundation stay fresh & last longer

Products that I use to help my foundation last
Hi lovelies, so today I'm going to share with you the products that I use to help my foundation stay fresh throughout the day. I have oily/combination skin and I find that my skin gets oily within 2 hours of applying my foundation, so i feel that I need to freshen it up often. I get oily mostly in the nose and cheeks area.
In his post, I'm going to share with you some tips and the items that I use to help make my foundation stay on looking fresh.
You need to start off with a clean and moisturised face, make sure you give your moisturiser about 5-10 minutes to sink into your skin.

The Porefessional (Benefit), Prep + Prime (MAC) and Photo Finish (Smashbox)
Apply a face primer focusing on the oily areas of your skin (for me it's the cheeks and nose). At the moment, I'm alternating between these 3 primers to find out which one works for me best. Let the primer sit for a minute then apply your foundation. Face primers help the foundation glide on to your skin, minimise the appearance of pores and mattify the skin.

Blot powder pressed (MAC)
Dust your face with blot powder using a kabuki brush. I like to use the 'pressed' version of the powder as it's easier to buff into the skin and it's travel friendly. I carry the powder with me for touch ups throughout the day.

Blot film (MAC)
Along with the blot powder, I carry the blot tissue to blot my face throughout the day. This product absorbs the oil from my skin.

I hope that you find this post helpful.
