The Body Shop Peppermint Foot Care Set

Hi dolls, I found this set at my local Body Shop branch, it was on sale at a reasonable price so I thought I should get it and try it out, also it was the last one left! I always wanted to have a set of a pedicure kit at home and this set includes everything you need for a DIY pedicure. Also, with summer approaching this is a handy kit to make your feet looking nice, soft and smooth.
Be warned this is a long post and filled with lots of pictures!

Peppermint Foot Soak

This product helps cleanse and refresh your feet. It contains peppermint oil and natural fizzy salts. Pour a small amount into a basin or a foot tub filled with warm water and relax while it soothes, cleanse and fizz away.

Peppermint Smoothing Pumice Foot Scrub

This is an intensively refreshing gel based foot scrub, it contains peppermint oil, pumice granules and menthol. It helps get rid of rough and hardened skin on the soles of your feet.Massage the scrub onto the soles of the feet and rinse with water.

Peppermint Intensive Foot Rescue

This moisturiser helps soften hard skin and prevent dry cracked heels, it contains cocoa butter, peppermint oil, menthol, organically grown soya oil and organic beeswax. Apply at night onto the soles of the feet and between the toes. I usually put this on right before I go to sleep and wear socks so that it works while I sleep and to prevent it from fading or rubbing off.

Peppermint Cooling Foot Lotion

This is a daily moisturising lotion that helps keep feet soft and smooth. It contains peppermint oil, menthol, glycerin, sweet almond oil and cocoa butter to keep your feet feeling revived and soft.

The last two products included in this kit are the Foot File Spoon which is a double sided filing tool that helps remove rough skin, it leaves the skin nice and smooth. And the No More Rough Stuff Pumice which exfoliates and removes dry and hard skin from elbows, knees and soles of your feet. These two items are handy to leave by the tub/shower so that you can use them whilst you're having a bath.

Overall, I am very happy with this kit, It's really cheap considering that all these items are included. I would've paid a lot more if I bought the items individually. It's a the perfect kit for an at DIY pedicure,

I hope that you've enjoyed reading this post.
Have you tried any of these products?

What's YOUR favourite #18

Hi everyone, Welcome to this week's 'What's your favourite ...' post!

This week, I'm asking you ...

What's your favourite scented candle?

Mine is French Vanilla from Yankee Candle.
I love the quality of these candles, the scent lingers on for quite a while even after the flame's been blown off. The sweet strawberry scent would be my second pick

Looking forward to reading about your favourite scented candle(s).

How To Clean Your Makeup Brushes

Hi dolls, there are two methods of cleaning your make up brushes, one is to spot clean your brushes and the second is to deep clean them Spot cleaning is a quick method used to clean your brushes after you've used them.  The deep cleansing method should be done every week, this is when you wash your brushes with baby shampoo to get rid of the residue and gunk in your brushes. In this post I'll show you how I spot clean my brushes.

MAC brush cleanser
I use the MAC brush cleanser to spot clean my brushes. According to MAC, this cleanser helps 'clean, disinfect and condition the brush fibres so that brushes will last longer.' It costs £8.50, US$13. I find that it's easier to empty the brush cleanser into a spraying bottle, this helps control the amount that you use without wasting product.

You will need your dirty brushes, brush cleanser, paper towel (you can use an old towel if you prefer).

To clean my Inlogt eyeliner brush what I do, is spray the cleanser onto my brush, then wipe the brush onto the paper towel back and forth to remove the built in product and clean my brush.. Wipe the brush back and forth until no more residue comes out.

This is the MAC 217 brush, I spritz the cleanser all around the brush and then wipe it back and forth along the paper towel until all the residue came off.

1. Dirty brush
2. Spritzing the cleanser onto the brush
3. Clean brush
I did the same process with my 130 MAC brush, I sprayed the cleanser all around the brush and then swirled the brush onto the paper towel to remove all of the residue.
1. Dirty brush
2. Spraying the cleanser onto the brush
3. Swirling the brush round
4. Clean brush
After I clean my brushes, I put them back to their original shape and leave them on a flat surface to dry.

Spot cleaning is a very efficient way of cleaning your brushes in between uses. The brushes don't take much time to dry. However, it is still important to deep clean your brushes with baby shampoo frequently.

I hope that you found this tutorial helpful. I will post another tutorial on how I wash my brushes with baby shampoo soon
Thanks for reading

What I'm Reading..

I'm currently reading 'The Hunger Games', fans (and I!) are anxiously waiting for the movie to be released on March 23.

I didn't know what the book was about till I read the first few chapters and I wasn't amused. I really didn't want to continue reading the book but because of the constant suspense I found myself turning page after page after page.

Have you read this book? What did you think of it?
What are you reading at the moment?

Monthly Favourites - February 2012

Hi dolls, welcome to my February favourites post, I can't believe we are in March already! This year is passing by so fast.

Bath and Body Works - Dark Kiss Triple Moisture Body Cream

As you're all aware I love the B&BW line. This month I've been loving the Dark Kiss body cream in the  triple moisutre formula as it's very moisturising and leave my skin feeling smooth and non greasy. It smells very sweet.
Flora by Gucci

I've had this perfume for ages but I haven't used it much. I spritzed it once last month and I really like the subtle scent of it and before I knew it I was using it all month.
The Body Shop Peppermint Smoothing Pumice Foot Scrub

Not only does this scrub smell yummy, it really gets rid of the tough skin on the soles of your feet. I've used it twice this month (Once every 2 weeks) followed by Vaseline and It kept my feet nice and smooth.
MAC 130 Brush

I found that this brush gives foundation a great flawless finish, I tried it with my Studio tech foundation which is cream based foundation and it gave me great coverage with no streaks.
Thumbs up for this brush!
Illamasqua Blush in Ambition
MAC Blush Ombre in Azalea Blossom
These blushes were my favourite in February. I really liked how warm the Azalea Blossom blush looked on me, I thought it would be too cool for me but it proved me wrong. I also loved the bronzey glow Ambition blush looked on.

What are your current favourites?
