Swatch of the Day : MAC 'Sun Rush' Lustre Drops

Left Sun Rush is blended
Right it's unblended

'Sun Rush' is a liquid warm gold illuminator that can be used to highlight the skin. It gives a nice glowey finish when applied either mixed in with foundation or blended into the skin to highlight the cheek bones.

Illamasqua Haul

Hello lovelies, It's no secret how much I adore and love Illamasqua. I talk about the brand all the time and I always want to discover new products from them, it's such an amazing brand and it never disappoints.

I got two items, 'Dixie' cream blusher and 'Belladonna' intense lipgloss. I've been after Belladonna since the launch of their summer collection 'Theater of the nameless' last year. I am so glad the I finally found it and of course I had to get it!!
What attracted me to Dixie cream blusher was not just the colour but the pigmentation and ease of application of the product. The blush is so smooth and pigmented from one swipe, usually cream blushers can be a pain to swatch but this swatched like a dream and this goes out to all their cream blushers, they all have fantastic formula. My next Illamasqua purchase will definitely be the skin base foundation, I grabbed a sample of it and loved it.

Onto the pictures and swatches...

What's in my holiday make up bag?

Hi lovelies, I thought I'd do this post to show you the make up I took with me on holiday. I sorted what I wanted to pack with me the night before. I was sitting in my bedroom with a bunch of lipsticks and lots of swatches on my arms when my brother walked in!! Now I'm aware that he *knows* I'm mad about make up and that I'm make up junkie but seeing me like that with lipstick swatches all over my arms and dozens of lipsticks around me, he must have thought that I am on another level of make up junkieness (is that even a word? lol)!! It was awkward , at least for me! .

I always use a bag  I got from Debenhams around 3 or 4 years ago to pack my make up . I love the polka dot pattern. It's also spacious and fits a lot of things. Below is a picture of it open, It is divided into 3 sections and you can see everything which is another pro, nothing gets lost and I don't need to spend time rummaging through my stuff to find what I need!

Monthly Favourites - May 2012

May Favourites
Hi lovelies, how have you all been? I am back from my holiday and back to blogging! I thought I'd start off by sharing with you my favourite products for the month of May.

My favourite blushes for the month of May were Dallas from Benefit and Sweetness from MAC. I am so glad that I took Dallas with my on holiday, I used it almost everyday. It's a beautiful plummy tan shade which doesn't look very interesting in the container but it looks very pretty on the skin. I find that It's a wearable everyday blush for me.
Sweetness is a bright cool bubblegum pink blush, it looks scary in the pan but once you apply it on the skin it looks lovely and it's build-able. I was worried that It'll look too cool for my warm skin-tone but it looked very pretty, especially on top of bronzer.

My favourite lip product of the month was Sleek's Pout Polish in 'Pink Cadillac'. The smell of this pout polish is amazing, this product gave my lips a berry stained lips with a bit of shine. Oddly, it  also made my lips look fuller! I wore this product almost everyday as it's easy to pop it into your handbag and apply it on the go.

I've had Benefit's 'They're Real!' mascara for a while but only opened it when I finished the mascara that I was using. I love how it lengthens and curls my lashes. But I do find that Badgal mascara works better for my eyelashes as it also adds volume to my lashes and makes them look fuller (maybe that has something to do with the huge brush that comes with it). Still, this is a great mascara and it's much better than the ones I've been using prior to it.

The MAC 109 brush was my savior this month and I'm so glad I took it away with me. This brush is a multi-tasker, I used it to apply my tinted moisturiser, bronzer, contour, blush and finishing powder!

Tickle my Francey iscurrently my favourite nude polish. It's a beautiful everyday shade and is work friendly. I wore this throughout my holiday.

I was in Superdrug looking for a small nail polish remover to remove some designs a woman at Hamley's ( a huge toy store in London) put on my nails using pen polishes. I saw this product in one of Sam Ram Beauty monthly favourites video and I really wanted to try it out, so when I saw it in superdrug I knew I had to get it. Thank you Sam!!I only had to use 1 pad to remove all of my nail polish and the designs I had on. It doesn't smell so strong or has a chemical scent to it like other nail polish removers. They also do these in tiny travel friendly containers!

So there you have it, those were my May favourites! Have you tried any of these products? What are your current favourite products?
